4 Big Reasons to Start Growing Your Own Food
With the assault on our food supply in full swing, it's a matter of survival that we plan ahead and prepare for the worst.
Gaining the knowledge and resources for self-reliance should be a top priority to Americans right now, as we enter this time of manufactured food shortages that don't have an end date in sight.
While this concept sounds troubling for some, we must remember that America was built on prosperous farmland. Our ancestors had a rich history of farming - they grew their own food and were largely self-reliant.
Over the decades and centuries, Americans gradually became more dependent on food providers like large-scale farms and factories. While there were benefits to this transition, there have also been significant downsides as we lost our confidence to sustain ourselves.
Luckily, many Americans have recently recognized the importance of learning these time-honored practices, and are switching back to self-reliance with home farms, vegetable gardens and community swaps.
In case you need some more convincing, here's 4 big reasons to start growing your own food, and why you should start immediately:
4. Supply Chain Instability

For starters, the supply chain is incredibly unstable, and it's becoming increasingly more broken due to a compounding number of factors that still continue to snowball.
When the COVID circus hit, a dangerous domino effect began in the food production and logistics industries, causing many domestic and international food companies to either close down or have their operations halted. This caused huge fractures every step of the way from farm to table, on a global scale. Playing catch-up isn't working, even though it's back to business as usual now for the growers and suppliers whose businesses survived the shutdowns. Even now, it takes time for plants to grow, and countless farms simply could not afford to stay open. Many have now gone out of business and are permanently lost as a result, which has left a big gap for ever-increasing demand.
For the last few years, a shortage of workers has impacted everyone involved in the production of food worldwide: Halting the ability of growers to raise and harvest raw ingredients, factories and food processing plants to cook and package the items, and logistics companies to transport the food across borders and oceans by truck or ship.
Additionally, many sources also point to foul play as our food producers struggle to get back on their feet: Rather mysteriously, an alarming number of American food processing facilities have caught fire and burned down in recent months. Coincidence? We highly doubt it.
So, what will you do when grocery stores run out of food? The mayhem and food shortages we saw during the COVID hoax were only a minor supply chain disruption in the grand scheme of things, and there's more troubling events on the horizon.
With the threat of global tension, war, and further food provider issues, you could find yourself scrambling for scraps in the near future. By growing your own food, you won't need to worry about supply chain instability since you’ll always be able to put food on the table for your family.

3. Reliance on Foreign Providers

Furthermore, growing your own food means you won’t have to rely on foreign providers, who can often become entangled in political disputes that have nothing to do with America. Take Russia and Ukraine, for example.
30% of the world’s wheat comes from these two countries alone, and a large portion of the fertilizers used on American farms is produced in Russia.
If they continue to attack each other and disrupt wheat and fertilizer production, the world’s food supply will feel the ramifications. Our best bet is to establish our own source of food and secure land to grow some wheat, allowing us to focus on our own survival without having to worry about what’s happening on the other side of the globe.

2. Freedom from Dependence

More broadly, growing your own food means you get to enjoy freedom from dependence on corporations and the corrupt US government. This is truly in spirit with what America means and what it represents.
By growing your own food, you don’t have to worry if corporations decide to hike up prices. Your wallet will be just fine, and you'll have a steady supply of nutrition if the powers-that-be decide to exercise more tyranny.
Similarly, if the government forces Americans to do one thing or another to get fed, such as have a vaccine passport or high social credit score, you can safely ignore them knowing that your food supply is not under their collective thumb.
1. Provides Personal Purpose

Lastly, growing your own food provides an important sense of purpose, even if the world is not yet collapsing completely around us. When you grow food, you connect yourself to the land and understand the importance of the natural resources we have here in America. Additionally, you'll be fueling your body with the healthiest, freshest and most natural food that's free of chemicals, genetic engineering and other aggressors that threaten our physical wellbeing.
On top of that, you’ll feel a profound sense of purpose by providing food to your family. There’s no better way to remind yourself of what’s truly important than to grow food, gather it, prepare it as a family, and eat it at home.

Ultimately, the recent strife and supply chain disruptions could be blessings in disguise. If more Americans start growing food at home and become less reliant on corporations and the government, we’ll call it a win in the long term.
Here's hoping our country will be able to avoid the escalating food crisis causing mass devastation anytime soon. But whatever way you slice it, it's prudent to be prepared for a steady decline.
The time is now to stock up on seeds, gardening supplies, water collection and storage equipment, and harvesting tools. Better yet, procure some fertile land to grow on while there's still time. Be smart, be ready, and guarantee your survival no matter which direction the world takes in the coming years.
Stay strong patriots. United We Stand.
