5 Emergency Preparedness Skills to Learn Right Now
“Every society is three meals away from chaos”
-Communist murderous scumbag Vladimir Lenin
Even if the country wasn’t a complete disaster right now, taking time to invest in critical life-saving emergency preparedness skills is something nobody regrets learning.
Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is the country is in complete shambles - supply chains are crumbling, our defense has weakened, local police have been endlessly berated and persecuted - and the time is now to either brush up on or begin to learn skills of self-reliance.
Although this guide isn’t a one-all-be-all, it does contain what we feel to be five of the most important emergency preparedness skills.
Read them, learn them, and practice them instead of watching Netflix. You’ll be glad you did.
5. Bandaging Wounds

Regardless of the state of emergency medical services in your town or city, learning how to properly bandage wounds during the critical post-injury moments could be the difference between life and death for yourself and those around you.
Aside from learning how to bandage critical damage from stab or gunshot wounds, also take time to learn how to patch up injuries to the eyes, splint broken bones, free up a blocked airway, and manage mental wounds. In addition to treating the wounds of others, learn how to treat yourself if you’re alone with nobody else around.
4. Tying Knots

Scoff and call me a boy scout all you want, but learning how to tie different types of knots for different purposes is incredibly useful. Should you ever need to build a temporary shelter, repair critical aspects of an existing structure, move heavy objects, or secure objects or animals, knots are crucial.
Generally, there are bends, loops, hitches, lashings, coils, stoppers, whippings, and finally splices. Also be sure to learn which type to use when.

You’ll see online that on average, a person can go up to 72 hours without water. It’s more than likely much less than that, but I don’t want to find out and neither should you.
Learning how to collect and treat water for drinking and bathing purposes is absolutely vital to emergency preparedness; luckily, water is abundant in most parts of America. You just have to discover where it is in your local area, develop a system to deliver it to your home, and learn how to check for purity and purify it.
Aside from grounded sources, collecting rain is also an excellent source. Either way, apart from collecting water, you must also learn how to store it. It may pour down for weeks and then suddenly go dry for a month, you never know.
2. Become a Gray Man

The skill of becoming a “Gray Man” is another way of saying “blending in”. Should disaster ever strike and you’re forced to go where there are a lot of other people, it’s vital to blend in with the crowd.
If you have months of emergency food, water, and hygiene products stored, you’ll look healthy as an Ox compared to those who did not prepare at all. Once a mob notices you have the resources they need because you don’t look hungry or disheveled, you and your resources become a target.
To become a "gray man", keep a cheap hoodie and old jeans stored away somewhere in case you have to be around the unprepared. Keep your head down, don’t shave for a few days, rub some dirt on your face, stay quiet, get what you need, and leave as quickly as possible.

1. Hand to Hand Combat

Of course Right Wing Gear supports the right to bear arms, but in some emergency situations, wielding a firearm also makes you a target. All it takes is for one guy to distract you while his quick pickpocket buddy slips your firearm out of its holster. In a split second, you’ve armed the enemy.
Although nearly anybody can fire a weapon, not many people are proficient or even intermediate in hand to hand combat, and the ones who are proficient will most likely have the discipline to not use it to attack.
Hand to hand combat is the only weapon nobody can turn against you and can also be used to claim your firearm back or disarm an attacker and arm yourself. Learn it.

Repair the Roof While the Sun is Shining...
What most people don’t understand is that once SHTF, they think they can handle it or learn all of these things when it happens. While that may be true for some, it isn’t for most. Many will panic and do anything they need to do to feed their families, and you have a choice to not fall into that category right here, right now. Put yourself way ahead of the pack now to survive the mob in the future, it’s better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.
Stay strong patriots. United We Stand.
